American Caregiver Training has been working with Community Colleges for almost four years on grants to train Personal Care Aides/ Home Aides, but with such a demand there needed to be a more comprehensive approach and now with the partnership with SBCCD we can satisfy the demand.
American Caregiver Training needed to find a more accessible training method without relying on government grants. San Bernardino Community College District (SBCCD) has always been at the forefront of Education and also saw this need so, together with American Caregiver Training, formed a partnership to create a superior online Personal Care Aide/Caregiver course.
We have produced an unmatched immersive set of training videos based on a federally approved curriculumn with proven results.
Hybrid Educational Training
We understand how difficult it can be to go to class every day, so we've alloted a major portion of our program to online based instruction without leaving out the importance of physical demonstration. Graduates must complete two days of soft skills instruction prior to course completion and receiving a certificate.

Personal care aides are ranked 3rd by the EDD in the healthcare job category in California with 22,000 jobs available in 2016 in home care providers, assisted living facilities and private individuals. Within the next ten years, personal care aides will be ranked 1st in all job categories throughout the country, looking after the 70 to 80 million people over 65, of whom 45 million will be 75 to 95.
We have teamed up with the largest homecare employers to provide graduates job in the largest growing field in healthcare. This is a direct program and feeder into the Healthcare profession without a college degree.

With the advent of the minimum wage of $15 per hour coming in the near future, a position as a Personal Care Aide is a good starting point for a career in Healthcare.
With the training this course provides, the student could be on the pathway to becoming a Medical Assistant, EMT, CNA, LVN, RN and Physical Therapy Assistant, which essentially represents a career ladder to the largest expanding job market in the nation: Healthcare.
